Wireless telecommunications and cable industries are developing and changing at a rapid pace. Advancements in technology and sweeping changes in the Federal regulatory scheme make it increasingly difficult and all the more important for municipalities to keep control of their public rights of way and maintain a regulatory structure to address these advances.
For the past ten years, our attorneys have been protecting municipalities’ interests from multi-billion dollar telecommunications companies by drafting wireless telecommunications ordinances, creating public right of way statutes, and negotiating the use of the public right of way by wireless telecommunications and cable companies in order to maximize the municipal value of permitting these uses. Often, we then represent such municipalities in the enforcement of their rights against challenges from information industries.
